MUSIC: The Magic of Motown, Opera House, Friday

GET into the groove with the Magic of Motown, a show that celebrates the world-famous Tamla Motown record label.
The production packs in more number- one hits than any other production, with the 15-strong cast portraying a host of Motown stars.
These range from Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5 to the Temptations, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie.
Nominated for the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2008, the Magic of Motown features dazzling costume changes and an uplifting score starring five-piece male harmonies, three-part female vocals and the seven-piece Magic of Motown band.
One cast member looking forward to the performance is Ade Omotayo, who spends most of his time travelling the world as a backing singer for Amy Winehouse.
He said: "The intimate atmosphere of the theatre has a special charm, not least because I get to sing lead on a number of songs when performing The Magic of Motown."
