Disgust at plaques man release
by Sue Carr19/ 3/2008
A HEROIN addict who convicted of handling 500 stolen memorial plaques from a Tameside cemetery has walked free from jail after serving half his sentence.
Paul Herrick, of Rydal Walk, Stalybridge, was arrested last August in connection with the theft of plaques valued at £146,500 from Dukinfield Crematorium.
Shouldn't this piece of trash be manufacturing replacement memorial plaques in jail and not released until they're all done?
When are these idiots in charge ever going to listen to the vast, enraged majority?
Alas, the answers are no and never.

Well Yes .......
Here we go again !!!!!
Give a criminal an easy sentence, hardly a deterrent to stop him re offending is it ????? Just goes to show that crime pays !!!!!!
Who ever gave him such a short sentence then decided on an early release should be put in Jail themselves for being so bloody stupid !!!!

I hate to draw this into a political issue, but does Cllr. John Taylor forget that it is because of his party (Labour) that prisoners are given weak sentences and given early release?
I would be particularly interested in hearing what Cllr. Andrew "Paid twice to represent the same people" Gwynne MP and what he thinks of this tragic story? After all he is the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Home Secretary, the Rt. Hon. Jacqui Smith MP who is responsible for overseeing that criminals get what they deserve.
