Do people not realise, Wayne was the father of Ryan, did he not have feelings for the baby too? Surely, he should be considered, the death must have affected him also. No mention of how he too, must have been tormented. We have lost a lovely nephew, any thoughts to the family that are left? We looked after Wayne and his brothers when they were little after the death of their Mum and he never gave us any trouble of any kind, there was no reason to believe he was the cause he was the cause of his own death. One stab wound does not indicate any struggle. Wayne must have been taken by surprise. Wayne will be in the arms of his Mum and may he rest in peace. Judy & David.

The vast majority of women in prison have been abused by men, so have those with a criminal record. Any solution to this mess must involve men. Putting women in prison is bad practice and is a male idea

Why did she kill her partner, the father of her child, her lover? She must have had very strong mitigating factors to get off with such a light sentence, these have obviously been kept from the public record for a very good reason, but her life is ruined anyhow. What person could possibly ´move on´from such dire personal tragedy? It´s not like like she´s going to come out of prison, land in a nice cushy job and a pretty house with a rose garden. Most likely she´ll end up in a far worse situation than she is now. This is a tragic tale, a dead baby, a partner who died by her hand, prison, what next? What leads a person to commit such an extreme act? For every action, there´s a reaction. This was once a young woman with her life ahead of her and I for one would like to know what went wrong.

"She will probably be out in a couple of years or less if tagged, she will be able to start again! but what about Wayne? wheres his fresh start? 4 years for a life what deterant is that!THE WORLD HAS GONE MAD!"

Sadly this is the way things work, it's not right especially when no provocation has been given...the world has, alas, gone completely raving mad....

Loving someone or losing a child does not give anyone the right to take away anothers life!, We knew Wayne for along time and we stand proud knowing he was our friend. We all might not know what went on that night but we know in our hearts he did not deserve this! If Wayne had been stood in the dock, a man, we know he would of got the maximum sentence not minimum! This is not justice this is just like giving her detention at school, a mere telling off! She will probably be out in a couple of years or less if tagged, she will be able to start again! but what about Wayne? wheres his fresh start? 4 years for a life what deterant is that!THE WORLD HAS GONE MAD!

Nobody, except the poeple who were there, knows what thappened that night. What we do know is that they had both lost a child and that night a man lost his life and she lost her partner. On the scant evidence published, it seems like a crime of passion, which no sentence would deter. To answer the question "Would you hang a pregnant woman?" No, but I would hang her when she'd given birth !

   The world has gone mad.

1, No-one can spell or punctuate a paragraph correctly. 2, When did "grief counselling" become a pre-requisite for people to remain sane and act according to the law?

Ace - the death penalty doesn't deter in America, so why should it here? If pushed far enough, many of us could be capable of such an offence. By the way, would you hang a pregnant woman?

Once again the MEN opens up for discussion something most inappropriate. Comments can only be made on the report as it is written. We dont know the circumstances, it is not reported. MEN is inviting people to hypothesize and it must be very distressing for the family and friends of both parties to see such ill informed musings in an open forum.

I agree with some of the comments that have been made, clearly the woman was suffering from the loss of her child, clearly she was grieving, its an odd thing to do to stab someone. I know what it's like to lose the fruit of your womb, its hurts, twisting inside you like a knife, this woman was already in a prison, surely she must of been having grief counselling and possibly on anti-depressants??? It is a shame that the man concerened lost his life and in this way, but plates don't just break themselves, I know his family must also be in emotional anguish. Post traumatic stress disorder - was this is factor in the case??? MY condolences to all concerned
