Armed raid on jewellers

GUNMEN held up a Stalybridge jewellers earlier today (Thursday).
Two masked robbers burst into Broscombe Jewellers on Melbourne Street just before 10am brandishing a handgun. They threatened staff and stole cash and rings before making off.
The offenders are described as white and wearing balaclavas and hoods. One was fat and wore a green army-type combat trousers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around that time should call Tameside CID on 8566954 or Crimestoppers, free and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
