Cricket club blaze

FIREFIGHTERS spent four hours tackling a blaze at a cricket club on Saturday night.
Officers from Ashton, Stalybridge and Mossley were called to the Ladysmith cricket club on Rose Hill Road, Ashton at around 7.45pm.
They had to strip the roof back in order to fight the flames.
Also, crews from Ashton and Stalybridge were sent to a blaze in a house in the early hours of Sunday morning.
But the fire, on Howard Street, Ashton, was already out when the fire engines arrived.
Firefighters had been led to believe there was somebody still in the house but everybody was out and nobody was seriously injured in the blaze, which began around 1am.
