Youths abuse firefighters

YOUTHS hurled abuse at firefighters as they tackled a fire in Mossley on Sunday.
A crew from Stockport who were manning Mossley fire station overnight were sent to Egmont Park on Egmont Street at around 8.20pm.
Several wheelie bins had been pushed together and set alight. As they tried to fight the flames youths who had gathered around them began swearing and calling them names.
Watch commander Duncan Mills said the fire engine used had a CCTV camera and the incident was being investigated.
“This behaviour to members of the emergency services who are only trying to do their jobs is not acceptable. Incidents of this type will always be followed up.”
Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
