Man fights for life after attack

A 44-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after a serious assault in Mottram.

Police were called to Ashworth Lane at around 4.15pm yesterday (Tuesday) and found the victim with a serious head injury. He was taken to Tameside Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 32-year-old woman and four men, aged 18, 20, 21 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody.
