Appeal for missing man to come home

A HYDE man who has been missing for almost a month is being urged to return home.
Alan Mercer, who had only recently married, was last seen by his wife on Thursday, 13 December.
Police know the 42-year-old spent a few days in Spain before returning to the UK. He was seen at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport on Christmas Eve and is believed to be staying at various hotels in Manchester.
Alan is 5ft 9ins tall with hazel eyes and dark, receding hair.
Sergeant Gregory Burman, of Hyde Police, said: “It is out of character for Alan to go missing and his family are very concerned as they feel they are in limbo.
“I would appeal to anyone who sees Alan to contact us as soon as possible. If Alan is reading this, I would urge him to let us and his family know where he is and if he is safe and well.”
