96-year-old assaulted in robbery

A 96-YEAR-OLD woman was hit in the face during a robbery at her home.
The pensioner was in the lounge of her flat, in Kendal House, Ambleside, Stalybridge, when the thief broke in through a ground floor window.
He snatched her handbag and hit her in the face before running off.
The victim had to be checked over at hospital following the robbery which took place around 5.40pm on Friday, 28 December.
