POLICE are hunting thugs who threatened and robbed a 92-year-old man.

The two robbers forced their way into the conservatory of the man's house on Lees Road, Ashton at around 10.30pm on Friday.

They then confronted the terrified elderly occupant, telling him to sit down and be quiet or he would get hurt.

Ransacking the upstairs bedroom, they stole cash and then fled. The man was not injured in the incident but was left extremely shaken.

Both offenders are described as white, in their late teens and about 5ft 8in tall. They wore dark clothing and hoods pulled up over their faces.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tameside CID on 0161 856 9250 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
