A HUNT is on to find a Good Samaritan who broke up a gang attack on two teenagers in Dukinfield park.

Police are keen to speak to a woman who stopped the assault and say she may have vital information.

The victims, aged 15 and 18, were confronted on Sunday between 3.30pm and 4pm. Two peeled away from the main group and confronted the pair, demanding the youngest boy’s mobile phone.

As he was taking out his SIM card, another teenager ran up and punched him in the face, causing swelling and a cut cheek.

The gang then turned their attention to the eldest victim and attempted to steal his gold necklace. Failing to do so, they instead started punching and kicking him before pouring beer over his head.

A passer-by out walking her dog spotted the attack and shouted at the gang to stop before chasing them away.

The first offender was white, 6ft tall, skinny, with a local accent. He had dark brown short hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black tracksuit top and pants with black Lacoste trainers.

The second is white, 6ft 1in tall, of medium build. He was wearing a dark blue jumper, black tracksuit pants and black trainers. He was also wearing a gold sovereign ring on his right middle finger.

A third was also white, 18, 6ft tall and of thin to medium build. He had short brown hair and his nose was bent as if it had been broken. He was wearing a black Nike coat with a peaked hood and black tracksuit bottoms.

The fourth was white, 16-18, 5ft 3ins to 5ft 6ins and medium build. He was wearing a dark blue hooded coat with lighter straps on the wrists and black gloves.

The final suspect was white, 16-18, 6ft tall, skinny, with short fair or ginger hair and a bent nose. He was wearing a grey hooded top.

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 9262.
