Gang drag mum from car and break her leg

9/ 4/2008

A MUM suffered a broken leg after being dragged from a car and stamped on by a gang of youths who brutally attacked a family in Hyde.

Her husband was also bottled in the vicious fight which erupted after their son had been set upon by five men outside the Ying Wah chip shop in Old Road, Hyde at 9.20pm on Friday.

The frightened 16-year-old phoned his dad and asked him to come and get him.His father arrived in minutes with his mother and an 18-year-old understood to be the boy’s older brother.

They collected the teenager and drove along Park Road where they came across the gang. The gang dragged the 43-year-old mum out of the car by her hair and stamped on her, breaking her leg.As he tried to help his wife, the 41-year-old father was bottled — gouging cuts in his head.

The 18-year-old was also assaulted and received facial injuries.

Detective Constable Michael Robinson of Ashton CID said: "This was a violent and nasty assault on a number of innocent victims.

"The boy’s family have come to collect him after he was assaulted and have been attacked themselves. Levels of violence like this show these yobs have a complete disregard for other people’s safety.  I believe they are local to the area and may often hang around in groups close to the incident."

Anyone with any information is asked to call Ashton CID on 0161 856 9254 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

what sort of man can drag a woman out of a car and then beat her up?
