A JOYRIDER described as a ‘one-man crimewave’ was captured by police after being trapped — by a snotty nose!

Jonathan Wilde, 19, was caught after forensic teams took DNA swabs of "nasal discharge" from a car he’d tried to steal.

He was arrested and confessed to 45 more offences, admitting he had never even passed a driving test.

Magistrates handed Wilde, of Kings Road, Ashton a three-year anti social behaviour order and banned him from TOUCHING any vehicle in the country, along with a suspended sentence. He was traced after trying to break into a Vauxhall Corsa in Astley Street, Dukinfield on 9 December.

Prosecutor Kim Irving said: "Forensic teams found nasal discharge inside the vehicle. A swab was taken and sent away for analysis."

On 5 January, a PCSO spotted Wilde behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta in Caroline Street, Stalybridge. It had been stolen from an address in Harrison Street, Stalybridge earlier in the day.

The car was found abandoned in Millbrook later that night. Hours later Wilde stole a Nissan Sunny from Grafton Street, Ashton and was pulled over by police on Huddersfield Road, Stalybridge. Taken to Ashton police station, his DNA was swabbed and the database provided a vital match.

Wilde also admitted breaking into a garage in Yew Tree Lane, Dukinfield on 6 December to steal a Mitsubishi Shogun.

Appearing at Tameside Magistrates’ Court, he admitted two charges of taking a vehicle without consent, burglary, driving while disqualified and vehicle interference. He asked for 45 other offences to be taken into consideration.

Defending, Karibo Lawson said Wilde was determined to change his ways.

"This is borne out by the fact he asked for all the other offences to be taken into consideration," he said. "He had a bet with a colleague in my office that he would not commit any more offences before coming to court. Suffice to say he arrived this morning looking for his winnings."

Magistrates sentenced Wilde to 24 weeks in a young offenders’ institution suspended for a year, a three-year ASBO, 12 months supervision and banned him from "touching by the positive act of holding" any vehicle in England.

These types of Pondlife should be punished properly, send them to hard labour camps, where they can be worked for their keep, I am sure we can find a nice rock quarry around somewhere to put these pondlife's to work.
