Tragic mum jailed for killing

A WOMAN has been jailed for four years after she stabbed her boyfriend to death.
Amanda O'Leary, 26, admitted manslaughter at Manchester Crown Court after killing 33-year-old Wayne Lawrence at the home they shared in Edward Street, Audenshaw.
O'Leary and Wayne had lived together for several years but the relationship had become strained following the death of their five month old baby boy in June 2006.
Police were called to the couple's home following a phone call from O'Leary saying she suspected her partner had been stabbed.
When officers arrived at the scene Wayne was lying on the kitchen floor with a stab wound to his stomach.
Police also found clear signs of a disturbance with broken crockery all over the floor and a large kitchen knife was found near the bottom of the stairs.
O'Leary was arrested and Wayne was rushed to hospital but died as a result of a single stab wound. On the way to hospital he told medical staff he had been stabbed by O'Leary.
After O'Leary was sentenced, senior investigating officer Vinny Chadwick said: "We may never know for sure what happened in the house that night and why O'Leary stabbed Wayne.
"His death is the second tragic loss his family have had to deal with in a short space of time and our thoughts remain with them."

Do people not realise, Wayne was the father of Ryan, did he not have feelings for the baby too? Surely, he should be considered, the death must have affected him also. No mention of how he too, must have been tormented. We have lost a lovely nephew, any thoughts to the family that are left?
We looked after Wayne and his brothers when they were little after the death of their Mum and he never gave us any trouble of any kind, there was no reason to believe he was the cause he was the cause of his own death. One stab wound does not indicate any struggle. Wayne must have been taken by surprise. Wayne will be in the arms of his Mum and may he rest in peace. Judy & David.
