On your bike to wheely good event
Sue Carr8/ 5/2008
A COMMUNITY cycle ride is taking place this Sunday to encourage more people to get on their bikes.
The event, run by Oldham-based Try-Cycles, is free and open to everyone from young children to more experienced riders.
Bikers can choose from two routes - three miles or seven miles - depending on their ability, and both cycle the scenic way past Park Bridge Heritage Centre.
Rides start and finish at Camp Street car park, opposite Tameside Council offices in Ashton.
Anyone interested should bring their bike along to register from 9.30am for an 11am start. There will also be free safety checks and refreshments.
To find out more call 6222934 or visit www.try-cycles.co.uk.
Should less emphasis be placed on the results of tests and more emphasis on general education for children?
