Man's jaw broken during robbery

A 29-YEAR-old man has had to have metal plates inserted into his jaw after being assaulted during a robbery in Tameside.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Pickford Lane, Dukinfield, at about 6.45pm on Tuesday 24 June.
The victim was walking his dog along the lane near the junction with Russell Street when he heard a man shout 'Oi' from behind him. As he turned around he was punched to the left side of his face, causing him to fall to the floor and lose consciousness.
When the victim came round he realised his gold chain had been stolen.
The 29-year-old suffered a broken jaw in two places as a result of the attack and had to undergo an operation to insert two metal plates into his jaw.
