Last chance to have your say on precinct

THURSDAY is the last day for Hattersley residents to air their views about the future of the area’s precinct.
Peak Valley Housing Association is holding a community consultation event from 3.30pm to 7pm at their office at 100 Hattersley Road East.
Organisers say the event, which began on Wednesday, is an opportunity for people to provide their ideas and suggestions for improving the existing area when the shops, housing office, library and community centre are moved to the New District Centre along Stockport Road.
Ideas include new affordable housing, elderly housing and environmental improvements and local people will be invited to draw up additional ideas on the future for the area.
“Once we have ideas and suggestions from people who live, work and visit the area we will then go on to develop a masterplan for Hattersley Precinct which will be delivered over the next few years,” said Phil Corris from Peak Valley Housing.
Peak Valley has commissioned GVA Grimley to undertake the master planning work and members of the GVA team will be in attendance along with officers from Tameside Council and Peak Valley.
