If they do get the % increase they are looking for, they will have to fund it with job cuts. I'm certainly not funding it with further local tax increases ...my loaf of bread costs the same as theirs. The unfortunate thing is, my employment is in the private sector, so strike action isn't a norm for an increase in salary. Watch this space, they will be up in arms when the local councils start to look for a 20% reduction in the workforce ...but, those who remain in employment after the cuts wont give a stuff about their dismissed colleges.    they have some cheek this lot,good wages,good holidays, good pentions,good working conditions,flexy time in some cases.how many jobs will pay full wages up to six months then half pay.when your off sick make them all self employed it would kill half of them to do a days HARD GRAFT. the only workers that deserve a rise are the poor cleaners and street cleaners.
