Warehouse torched three times
Sue Carr11/ 9/2008
A DISUSED warehouse has been targeted by firebugs three times in a week.
Firefighters were called to the property, on Halton Street, Hyde, at 2pm and 8.20pm on Monday and again at 2.20am on Wednesday.
Yobs had torched whatever they could find including rubbish and gas cylinders.
Steve Twinn, watch manager at Hyde station, said: “It’s a dangerous building which is in danger of collapse.
“People should be aware that it’s not safe to play inside and if they are caught starting fires they could get charged with arson.”
Residents are being asked to be vigilant and report any information or suspicious behaviour to police. Call 8725050 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555111.
