THREE youths have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was found badly beaten in the street.
Ben Musket was left fighting for his life in hospital after being found unconscious in Hyde Road, Denton at 3am on Saturday.
He suffered serious head and facial injuries, including a fractured skull and fractured eye socket.
His condition has since improved and police hope he will make a full recovery.
Three boys, all aged 16, were arrested on Monday and taken to Ashton police station for questioning.
It is expected they will be bailed while forensic examinations take place.
It is understood Ben, from Denton, may have been involved in an argument in a nightclub in Hyde, which spilled on to the street outside. He was set upon as he walked home.
Detective Chief Inspector Maria Fox, of Ashton CID, said: "Ben was the victim of a serious assault. He suffered extremely nasty injuries and to begin with was in a serious condition in hospital. We are still not sure of Ben’s movements that night. Perhaps his picture will refresh people’s memories. Maybe you saw him having a drink somewhere, or you were out with him."
Anyone with any further information should call Ashton CID on 0161 856 9254, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
