Masked raiders strike at busy restaurant

MASKED robbers stormed into a restaurant in Ashton and terrified staff and diners.
Two men burst into the restaurant, one armed with an axe and the other with a large knife.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which took place at Frankie and Benny's on Fold Way, at about 10pm on Sunday 21 September.
They threatened employees with the knives and took the manager into an office, where they then demanded the contents of the safe. The offenders fled with a quantity of cash.
They got into a dark Ford Focus. The car is described as having a new shape and may be black or dark blue.
One offender is described as white, of skinny build and around 5 ft 4ins tall. He was wearing a dark blue baggy hooded top and was carrying a knife.
His accomplice, who was carrying an axe, is described as being 6ft tall, of slim build, in his early or mid 20s and was wearing dark clothing and leather gloves. There is no description of his ethnicity.
Both robbers were wearing balaclavas.
Detective Constable Wayne Redford of Ashton CID, said: "The restaurant was open at the time of the attack and a number of diners were finishing their meals, so this was an absolutely shocking and frightening incident for the restaurant staff and customers.
"Fortunately nobody was hurt, but everyone was left terrified.
"I would urge anyone who has information that will help with our investigation to come forward. I'd particularly like to hear from anyone who saw the car."
