That’s Life ... says Scott after crashing out

THERE’S no place like Tameside for X Factor finalist Scott Bruton.

Millions watched on Saturday as a tearful Scott became the third act to be voted off the ITV show.

But speaking to the Advertiser, the 19 year old said he was glad to be home and thanked the borough's residents for supporting him.

"I was absolutely devastated at the time but now it’s sunk in a bit I feel good," he said. "I went out with two good performances and I got to the final 10 in the country so I must be doing something right. I feel happy with myself and it’s nice to be back in the real world and to see my family and friends. I’d just like to thank everyone for believing in me."

Scott, from Droylsden, was praised for his performance of Frank Sinatra classic, That’s Life, but it wasn’t enough to keep him out the bottom two. Judges voted to keep Daniel Evans who moved them to tears with a song dedicated to his late wife.

"It was just one of those weeks," said Scott. "Everyone was on form, there was not one bad performance, and someone had to go."

The former Pontins Bluecoat is now backing pal Laura, from Bolton, to win the competition but says Alexandra may steal the show. He added that he will keep watching - if he can find the time!

"I’ll be all over the country for the next couple of months. I’ve got gigs in Birmingham, I’m switching on the Christmas lights in Coventry and I’m even singing in a club in Crete," he said.

"I’m also going to try and sort out gigs at the Moss Tavern in Droylsden and Ashton’s Imperial Bar to thank them for all their support. I didn’t enter the X Factor for fame or fortune, I entered for a music career. As long as I’m singing I’ll be happy."

   He was rubbish!

And what was with all the tears? Be a proper man!

Alexandra and Rachel have by far the best voices in the competition, and both deserve to hammer the shower that remains.
