HE’S more used to whipping celebrities into shape on Strictly Come Dancing, but Len Goodman is bringing his dance talent to Tameside.
The head judge on the runaway BBC show is giving a masterclass at Hyde town hall.
He follows Camilla Dallerup who partnered Holby City star Tom Chambers to lift the Strictly trophy and who was lured to the borough over Christmas.
But even Paul Donahey, who organises the events, admits getting Len is something special.
"I’ve been trying to book him for about four years but he is either on Strictly or travelling to and from America to do Dancing With The Stars," he said. "He really is the most famous of the judges around the world so to get him to come here has been my dream. I might hang up my shoes now!"
Len will give a dance masterclass as seen on Strictly’s spin-off, It Takes Two, as well as a Q&A session and will talk about what goes on behind the scenes.
The evening will also be something of a reunion for Londoner Len, 64, who as a teenager used to dance with Paul’s mum and dad.
Paul, who runs Donahey’s Dance School, added: "They’ll definitely be there and we expect the tickets to sell fast. People travel from as far away as Scotland and Devon for these nights."
Len appears on 20 January at 7pm. For tickets call 338 2884 or visit www.donaheys.co.uk
