I'm sorry about the cyclist & wish him a full & speedy recovery. I was a keen cyclist many years ago and have now been driving many years and have done an advanced driving course. I'm not commenting on what happened to this poor man but on driving and some cyclists in general. I never go out in my car without seeing some appalling driving and I feel that at least 80% of drivers shouldn't be on the road. There are also a lot of cyclists around Ashton who don't seem to know the rules of the road like " cycle on the left" or " go down one-way streets the right way". Finally, I was told to always, when driving past a cyclist, give them room to fall or give them as much room as a small car would take up on the road. From, Another ex cyclist & now driver

   How can this collision have been in Ashton if it happened at Turing Way/Pottery Lane? It might have been Ashton Old Road, but you're about 5 miles short of Ashton!
