Inquiry complainants wanted

PATIENTS with complaints about care at Tameside Hospital are being urged to come forward to help with an independent inquiry.

The investigation is being carried out by an expert panel including Professor Dame Pauline Fielding, honorary professor of nursing at the University of Central Lancashire, and Liz Craig, director of integrated governance at North Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

It was prompted by a coroner's concerns about nursing care and more than 120 families who have since come forward with similar complaints.

Peter Tracy, who represents the families as chair of Tameside Hospital Action Group, said: "We have met with the panel and given them as much detail as we could from our own personal experiences.

"We have since passed another 75 emails and letters on and are urging anyone with a complaint about the hospital to contact us if they have not already done so."
