Flood causes chaos

A BURST water main caused chaos for drivers and home owners in Audenshaw and Denton as they prepared for Christmas.

Fire crews were called to Ashton Road after the pipe burst, flooding surrounding streets for one square mile.

Ashton Road, Corporation Road, and Egerton Street, Denton, were closed in both directions, while 10 fire appliances spent six hours pumping out water.

Houses between Stanhope Street, Denton, and Corporation Road were the worst affected by flood damage, which hit the streets last Saturday.
