Killer dies in jail

AN ELDERLY man who murdered his wife as he was due to answer rape and indecent assault charges, has died in a prison hospital.

Billy Wright, aged 75, killed wife Jessie in their home in Chapman Road, Hattersley.

Police found her badly bruised body after they went to arrest Wright for failing to turn up for a court appearance.

He was found dead in the hospital wing of Wakefield prison where he was serving a life sentence.

An inquest has been adjourned for further inquiries but it's thought he died from natural causes related to an eating disorder.
