Thief targeted pensioner (94)

A 94-YEAR-old woman had her purse snatched by a callous thief as she walked down the road in broad daylight.
The pensioner was approached from behind by the man in Woodbridge Avenue, Audenshaw.
He snatched the purse - containing a small amount of cash - out of her hand and made off in a maroon Ford Escort.
Sgt John Cox, of Ashton police, said: "This offender has obviously waited in the area and picked an easy target.
"It was 4pm so it will probably still have been light. We'd ask anyone who saw anything, or who saw this vehicle making off, to contact us."
The man was white, young looking, wearing a deep crimson coloured top and a hat.
The incident occurred at 4pm on February 26.
