LATEST unemployment figures show a rise in the numbers claiming benefit in Tameside.
A total of 3,428 are unemployed - 2,633 men and 795 women - compared with 3,107 in December, representing a four per cent rise.
This is the third highest in Greater Manchester and the same rate as 12 months ago, but below the current north west average of 5.4 per cent.
