Presents for homeless pets

SOME might think Christmas is just for kids, but a travel company believe pets deserve a visit from Santa too.

Travelcare in Ashton will be making sure cats and dogs at Tameside's Animal Shelter will have a few presents to unwrap on December 25 by collecting gifts at their store.

The travel agents started collecting food and toys for the shelter last Christmas and hope to repeat their success this year.

Denis Barton, the assistant manager at the Warrington Street store, said: "People in Tameside are real pet lovers, the response last year was fantastic - we filled two shopping trolleys."

This year the shelter especially need pet food and cat litter.
To make a donation pop into Travelcare between Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm or Saturday 9am-1.30pm.
