SOPHIE really is a butcher's dog!
As part of a Blue Cross 'Take your dog to work day', barman Reg Urquhart, of Essex Avenue, Droylsden took his Westie with him for a shift at the Butchers Arms in the town.
Reg, who also keeps budgies, said: "We've always had Westies and I was browsing on the computer and saw this on the Blue Cross site and decided to do it. Usually Sophie just sits in and watches TV all day, so it's a change for her."
Reg helped raise money on the day by setting up a scratch card game and donating all tips made on the day to the pet charity.
"We raised about £50 on the bar. Sophie enjoyed it. She was really tired when we got home - she just collapsed on the floor and went to sleep. But we plan to do it agains next year."
