Selling skills for a home sweet home

A TAMESIDE woman is hoping to cash in on the house boom by offering a house makeover service.

Annette Warne is using her skills in interior design to help others sell their homes quicker.

Annette, of Joel Lane, Gee Cross, has always had an interest in interior design. And after years of helping friends and relatives restyle their homes to make them more appealing to prospective buyers, she came up with her own business idea - Showhouse.

She said: "I've had tremendous experience in selling houses in different areas and I found there was no help for people when their property wouldn't sell.

"I know there's lots of advice given but I actually want to work with people. It's House Doctor comes to Tameside!"

Annette, 42, plans to help people having problems selling their homes by providing a wide ranging service from painting and decorating, planting inside and out and suggesting ideas for storage.

She even loans out her own furniture to people to give their homes a different look.

She said: "To get enthusiastic about doing a property that you've emotionally and mentally moved out of is very difficult."

Annette was born in America and has only lived in Tameside for 18 months. She moved to Northern Ireland when she was 14 before moving on to Maidenhead.

She said: "I've sold a lot of houses in my time. My partner moved to Gee Cross for his job and we fell in love with Tameside. We love Werneth Low."
