Dream trip for brave Thomas

A TODDLER suffering from a brain tumour is going on the trip of a lifetime and vising Santa in Lapland.

Thomas Allen was only recently allowed home from hospital after a chest infection caused him to stop breathing and he was rushed into intensive care.

The four year old spent three days hooked up to a ventilator but is now back with his family and looking forward to his visit to Lapland next week with children's charity When You Wish Upon a Star.

Now friends of the Audenshaw family have rallied round for a charity night to help the poorly tot and raise funds into brain tumour research.

Mum Janet, of Sandringham Avenue, said: "They wanted to give us the money to go to Lapland with but I said I wanted it to go to Cancer Research. I don't know how many children are affected by brain tumours. I didn't really know much until Thomas was diagnosed, and I think more should be done to raise awareness."

The fund raiser takes place tomorrow night (Friday) at the Boundary in Guide Bridge, Audenshaw, at 7.30pm with a live band, disco and karaoke. There will also be a raffle with a variety of food and drink prizes up for grabs.

Tickets are £5 and can be bought on the door or in advance from the Boundary.
