‘Miniature Peter Kay’ lands big role in TV car ad

TAMESIDE'S own 'miniature Peter Kay' is on the road to success after becoming the new face of Vauxhall.

Lewis Kingsley-Peart outshone thousands of children to bag the comical role in the Vauxhall Zafira advert.

As a member of NK Theatre Arts group, Lewis auditioned for the role in the advert in which he and another young boy are shown cleaning their family cars.

"They were looking for children, travelling up and down the country; London, the Midlands, up to Edinburgh. Lewis was given the script and when they saw him they liked him and invited him to London to go for another audition," said mum Marie, of Hyde.

"He joined NK Theatre Arts in September and did the audition in the February. He has no previous experience of acting, although he's been dressing up since he was 18-months-old in the house."

"People always used to say he'd end up on TV, but you never think it will actually happen. The character in the advert is Lewis to a T, he's such a funny and lovable little boy. People call him the miniature Peter Kay!"

However, fame may have to wait as Lewis, who attends St John's primary school in Dukinfield, has other career plans.

"My gran told me there wasn't much money in acting. I want to be a dentist," said the talented youngster.
