Meet Innocent

INNOCENT Nkung is inviting local residents to come and meet him.

Innocent has been so touched by support given from the local community that he and his supporters have arranged a special evening where the public can meet him and enjoy food and music.

There will be presentations on the night from representatives from the various organisations where he has volunteered.

He has worked at a local school helping students with their French conversation, at Cash Box Credit Union and at the Sunrise refugee project where he helps asylum seekers who have been granted refugee status to arrange appointments and attend job interviews. He is also a regular church goer, secretary of Tameside African Refugee Association and teaches French to people in Tameside.

He speaks fluent English and is a committee member at the Tameside branch of the National Union of Teachers.

Innocent said: "I want people to come along and have a nice night, sample some African food and enjoy music."
