Join Street star to keep unit open

KEEP services local - that's what Corrie teen actor Brooke Vincent says.

The 13-year-old Audenshaw lass and former Advertiser delivery girl plays Sophie Webster in the nation's favourite soap, Coronation Street.

She knows from first-hand experience how important it is for families to have top-class services on their doorstep.

She said: "My mum's friend's little boy was in the neonatal unit at Tameside Hospital for three months because she had him at just 28 weeks. She had to visit him every night while he was being looked after there.

"Harrison's 11 months old now and it's good to see how well he's doing and how much he has grown. We think it's really important to help babies and mums in the same position. We support keeping things like this local."
