Woman, 39, dies after being hit by bus

A 39-YEAR-OLD woman has died after being hit by a bus in Ashton.
Tracie Cheetham suffered a serious head injury in the incident, which happened on Darnton Road at the junction with Arundel Street at 5pm last Thursday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Darnton Road was closed for about four hours at its junctions with Mossley Road and Arundel Street while police examined the area.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, which involved a First Bus vehicle, is asked to contact them on 856 8473.
