People jump from burning house

TERRIFIED residents jumped 15ft from a first floor bedroom window to escape their smoke filled house.
Hyde and Stalybridge firefighters arrived to see the last of the three residents, two males and one female, make their dramatic escape.
A fire had started near the front door of the property on Grosvenor Court, Ashton and a large quantity of thick smoke accumulated inside the property.
Three fire engines arrived at the incident at 3am Monday morning and used breathing gear and a hose reel to extinguish the flames.
The three people, the youngest of whom was 15 years old, were taken to Tameside General Hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation.
A Hyde firefighter who attended the scene said: "The residents were very lucky not to have more serious injuries, as they jumped onto soft ground.
"It is not something the fire service would normally recommend but with the quantity of smoke in the property, it must have been terrifying, so is understandable in this case."
