Butcher is a cut above

BUDDING model Melissa Walcott comes to work dressed to kill - literally.
The pretty 20 year old was spotted by fashionistas to star in a Manchester fashion show while on a break from her day job as a butcher's assistant at Corbally's in Hyde market.
It was a far cry from racks of meat to racks of the latest fashions and Melissa loved every minute of modelling the spring/summer collection.
"At first, before I went on the catwalk I had butterflies because I'd never done anything like that before," she said.
"But as soon as I was up there I was buzzing. I wanted to get back straight away."
Now Melissa has had a taste of the model life at the Manchester Arndale event at the weekend, she said she hopes to get a chance to do it full time.
"I've always wanted to get into modelling but it's dead hard because I'm only 5' 2"," she added.
Melissa was selected from 400 hopefuls who entered the Made in Manchester competition.
Organisers said they chose her because of her unique style, savvy dress sense and fun, feisty attitude.
