Youth hurt in quad bike accident

A 17-YEAR-old girl from Greenfield is being treated in hospital for a serious head injury after being involved in a crash on a quad motorbike.

Two girls, aged 16 and 17, were on the bike when it hit parked cars on Buckton Vale Road in Stalybridge, on Wednesday evening.

One has a suspected broken neck and is in Tameside Hospital.

The 16-year-old from Stalybridge, who hurt her face and arms, has been released from hospital.

   These bikes race around behind my house at all times. My mum is kept awake until the early hours where she lives on Crowswood estate which is near where this happened. Why parents buy these for their kids I'll never know - suppose as long as it's not on their doorstep the parents turn a blind eye.

   I'm sorry to hear the girls were injured, but lets have it right, who pays for the damage to the car they hit ? They were doubling a quad bike, thats not suitable for on road conditions, especially in the dark, they should be lucky their injuries aren't more serious, these two could have been killed. A
