Hyde 180-9 Oulton Park 184-4

7/ 5/2008

HYDE continued their start to the season with a seven-wicket defeat against reigning champions Oulton Park.

Batting first, Hyde began solidly but slipped to 44-2 before Farmer (32) and Duffy (29) began to rebuild the innings.

Once those two were dismissed, Hyde’s middle and lower order stuttered as they finished on 181-9.

Oulton Park’s reply began impressively with Kettle (61) rarely missing out on an opportunity to score.

Having seen Leech run out for 17, Kettle and Spendlove (48) built a match-winning partnership before both fell to Morris (2-26). As the run chase eased to its conclusion, Dumelow took on the Hyde bowling to reach an unbeaten 50 from 35 balls to give Oulton Park victory and leave Hyde desperate for a positive result against Urmston.
