HYDE Cricket Club shrugged off defeat against Neston the week before by taking maximum points against bottom club Heaton Mersey last weekend.
Hyde won the toss and elected to bat first on a wet wicket, a move which looked questionable with openers Morris and Tipper dismissed to leave them 2-2.
That brought James Duffy to the crease, the Cheshire batsman hitting a flurry of boundaries in a magnificent innings of 130.
Overseas man Josh Farmer (41) and Peacock (31) provided good support as Hyde put together an impressive score which allowed them to declare on 249-5.
Hyde wasted no time in collecting wickets in reply as Woolley struck in his first over, removing Lancashire Academy batsman Mark Bennett for a duck.
Tom Young accounted for ex-Hyde skipper Dave Fitzsimmons, and although Norbury (37) and McDonald (30) added 66 for Mersey, their departures saw the wheels fall off their team’s reply.
Wickets fell at regular intervals, leaving Mersey trying to hold out for the draw with more than 20 overs remaining.
They were unable to do so as Woods and Berry took three wickets each to dismiss Mersey for 146.
