A TOWN tester: Danny Caldecott and his Ashton United team-mates host Kendal Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup following Monday’s draw

TWO of the three local teams in FA Cup action have been handed home draws for the first qualifying round.
Curzon Ashton have been rewarded for their victory over Runcorn Linnets with a home tie against UniBond League Premier Division club Leigh Genesis.
The club, formerly known as Leigh RMI, changed its name over the summer following relegation from Blue Square North last season and ahead of their scheduled move to the new Leigh Sports Village complex.
Ashton United, who make their debut in this season’s competition, are at home to fellow UniBond Premier Division club Kendal Town.
Chris Willcock’s Mossley side must travel to the winners of Wednesday’s replay between Flixton and Bottesford Town after they drew 2-2 last weekend while the Lilywhites were taking care of Ramsbottom United at Seel Park.
Belper Town, who accounted for Glossop North End, are at home to Barwell.
All the matches are scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 13. As well as a place in the second qualifying round, all of the teams in action will be playing for prize money of £3,000.
