MOSSLEY looked set for an FA Trophy replay at Stocksbridge, but they conceded four goals in the last eight minutes at Seel Park.

The Lilywhites edged the first half in a game lacking goal action, although Graham Kays’ thunderous header from a corner struck the bar.

Then Lee Blackshaw put Mossley in front.

Dignan’s cross from the right dropped nicely for Blackshaw and his header looped gently beyond Tom Hewitt and into the net.

All the visitors could muster was an effort from Andy Ring which, off-balance, he screwed wide after Sidebottom and Vardy had opened Mossley up on the right.

Stocksbridge came out with more purpose in the second half and within four minutes of the restart they were level as Mossley failed to clear their lines and Andy Ring poked the loose ball home from close range.

The home side found themselves hanging on as Ring got through on his own, only to shoot over the top when he should have scored.

In he closing minutes Mossley failed at both ends of the pitch. They didn’t keep hold of the ball up front and were found wanting at the back to balls over the top and the goals came quickly.

Carl Fothergill scored when he broke clear and rounded Higginbottom to put Stocksbridge ahead.

Jamie Vardy then claimed a hat-trick in just four minutes. For his first he muscled past Coyne and slotted beyond the Mossley keeper.

Mossley were left chasing Vardy when he got his second, and he completed his memorable treble in the closing minutes.
