SOCCER: Stalybridge's pre-season plan is swinging into action as the Bower Fold outfit builds up an 18-20 player squad.

Assistant manager Gerry Luczka said: "Dave (Miller, manager) and I are facing a massive, massive rebuilding job at Stalybridge, so these things are taking time.

"We're back in for pre-seaon training though on July 9, and we're very optimistic ahead of the new season.

"Up front is definitely the department of priority for us, that is the sharp end of the team of course.

"We should have between 18 and 20 players down for our first training session, which has been put back a week because of holidays and the like."

A pre-season work party is taking place this Saturday (July 22, from 10am) at the Bower Fold ground. Volunteers and Celtic supporters are asked to go along to help tidy up, and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
