Hatton books a Docklands date against Oliveira

RICKY Hatton will make the 15th defence of his WBU light-welterweight title against Ray Oliveira at London's ExCel Arena on Saturday, December 11.

The fight is a warm-up as the Hitman bides his time before facing the winner of the Kostya Tzsyu-Sharmba Mitchell fight for the undisputed crown.

American Oliveira is 36 years old and boasts a record of 47 wins, nine losses and two draws, including victory over current WBA champion Vivian Harris in 2000.

Like Hatton's last opponent, Mike 'No Joke' Stewart, he faces the Hitman without having been stopped.

Hatton has been forced to fight outside his usual base of the MEN Arena because the venue has already been booked that night for the 'Classical Spectacular' classical music concert, meaning the switch to London's Docklands area.

Promoter Frank Warren is confident that it will be a 20,000 sell-out down by Canary Wharf with announcements about undercard fights expected shortly.
